Vehicle catalytic converters contain valuable metals including platinum, palladium, and rhodium. ICP-AES estimates concentrations by measuring light emitted at many wavelengths, but complex materials can produce thousands of overlapping or uninformative signals. This collection supports selecting useful emission lines for simpler calibration. ICPAES1.mat contains 49 training and 10 test samples across 155 lines, paired with platinum concentrations. ICPAES2.mat contains 111 peroxide-fusion digests across 2,268 variables and reference concentrations for Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Ir, Rh, and Ru. The paired spectra and concentrations support variable selection, multivariate calibration, and quantitative analysis of industrial samples.
