What is Lovelace’s Square?

We work to remove barriers to open-source codes and open-data datasets, giving researchers, students, and professionals the tools and resources they need to advance scientific research and address challenges in chemometrics.

Lovelace’s Square is named in honor of Ada Lovelace, representing the intersection of coding, innovation and community. Ada, often regarded as one of the first computer programmers, was a pioneering mathematician who collaborated with Charles Babbage on the Analytical Engine.

She was among the first to recognize that this early mechanical computer could perform tasks beyond calculations, laying the conceptual groundwork for modern computing. Her contributions are a cornerstone in the history of technology.
